「私は誰か？ そして、“家”とは私にとって何か？」
この問いから、見知らぬ人々の家をめぐる旅が始まりました。
『他者の家』は、“家”という概念に結びついたイメージや記憶、ささやかなつながりをたどります。
他者のために空間をつくるという、静かな身振りに思いを巡らせながら。
他者と出会うこと――
それは、おそらく、自分の中にある「見慣れない模様」を見つめることなのかもしれません。

“Who am I, and what does home mean to me?”
This question began a journey into the homes of strangers.
The House of Others traces images, memories, and subtle connections tied to the idea of home,
reflecting on the quiet gesture of making space for another.
To encounter the Other
is perhaps to see the unfamiliar patterns within ourselves.

子どもの頃、水草模様のカーテンから月明かりが差し込むのを見ていました。
その静かな瞬間が、ひとつのことを教えてくれました――イメージにも感情が宿るということ。
そしてその夜、ひとつの問いが芽生えました。「私は誰？」「私にとって“家”とは何だろう？」
『他者の家』は、この問いを抱えて見知らぬ家々を訪ねます。
訪問と対話を通して、「家」という概念の感覚的・感情的・関係的な層を探ります。
記憶に残る家のイメージ、言葉にならない祈り、忘れられた会話が、ゆっくりと映像に現れていきます。
アイヌの儀礼工芸「イナウ」が、神を迎えるための空間をつくるように、
この作品もまた、他者のための「空間をつくる」という行為について考察します。
他者と出会うことは、おそらく、自分の中の「見慣れない模様」を見つめることなのかもしれません。
このビデオエッセイは、「家」という概念を詩的に旅する試みです――
自己と他者、記憶と喪失、もてなしとアイデンティティをつなぎながら。
The House of Others

As a child, I watched moonlight seep through a curtain patterned with water plants.
That quiet moment taught me something new — that even an image could carry emotion.
And that night, a question began to form: Who am I? And what does home mean to me?
The House of Others follows this question into unfamiliar homes.
Through visits and conversations, the video explores the sensory, emotional, and relational layers of “home.”
Images of home that linger in memory, wordless prayers, and forgotten conversations slowly emerge on screen.
Like the Ainu ritual craft Inau, which creates a space for the divine to dwell, this work reflects on the gesture of making space for others.
To meet the Other is, perhaps, to look at the unfamiliar patterns within oneself.
This video essay weaves a poetic journey through the idea of home — connecting self and other, memory and loss, hospitality and identity.
