Q1 Do I have to apply with Japanese artists?

Yes. This is an Open Call for an art collective/ group consisting of artists from Japan and abroad. Unfortunately, we do not accept individual applications.

Q2 Why only art collectives/groups?

This open call is for art collectives/groups consisting of artists from Japan and abroad. The purpose is to enable at least one artist to stay and work in Sapporo/Hokkaido in order to increase the security and possibility of production in the current unstable situation.

Q3 Can you find some Japanese artists to pair with me?

Unfortunately, we are not able to find a pair for you. Since this will be a mid-term residency of 50 days, we encourage you to work with a group of trusted and respected members. Why don’t you try to find members by yourself first?

Q4 Are Japanese artists only those who are based in Japan?

Japanese artists to be any artists who hold the national including special permanent residency rights, and who are those whose main base of activity includes Japan. Applicants who are able to travel to Sapporo are preferred. If you have any questions, please email application@tenjinyamastudio.jp.

 

A３ー　残念ですがこちらでペアを探すことはできません。５０日間の中長期レジデンスになりますので、お互いの活動を知っていたり、尊敬していたりするような信頼関係のあるメンバーで構成されるグループで活動に取り組むことを勧めます。募集期間はゆとりがありますので、まずはご自身でメンバーを探してみてはどうでしょうか？

日本のアーティストは、日本国籍（特別永住権を含む）がある方で、主な活動の拠点として日本が含まれるアーティストです。なお、不安定な状況下でも札幌まで移動ができることが可能な方であれば安心です。不明な点はメールでご相談ください。application@tenjinyamastudio.jp
