英語でラフカディオ・ハーンとして知られる小泉八雲の著書『怪談』から、いくつかの物語を抜粋し、イラストレーションを制作しました。

I have produced a series of illustrations based on a selection of stories from the book ‘Kwaidan: Stories & Studies of Strange Things’ by Koizumi Yakumo, who is known as Lafcadio Hearn in English.

こんにちは、ようこそ私の展覧会へ。
私の名前はジョーダンで、アイルランドのダブリン出身のイラストレーター兼コミックアーティストです。
小泉八雲の『怪談』に出てくる日本の怪談を、私なりに解釈したので楽しんでいただけたらと思います。
怪談を読んで、そのイメージをペンとインクで再現するのはとても楽しい作業でした。
天神山アートスタジオでこのプロジェクトに取り組めたこと、特に10月のハロウィンに向けての1ヶ月間はとても楽しかったです。

Hello and welcome to my exhibition.
My name is Jordan and I’m an illustrator and comic book artist from Dublin in Ireland.
I hope you enjoy my interpretation of some of the Japanese ghost stories from the book “Kwaidan’ by Koizumi Yakumo.
I had great fun reading them and then getting inspired to recreate the imagery in these haunting stories on the page using pen and ink.
It has been a pleasure to work on this project at Tenjinyama Art Studio, especially during the month of October in the lead up to Halloween.
