あの二人組が帰ってきた！前回の滞在中にブラッシュアップして完成した本と、日本語訳本が完成した二人。

今回の滞在では、面白いアイデアで体験型の展示を企画してくれました。展示期間中には、SIAF2024と日曜日のスタジオのコラボレーション・ワークショップも開催します。

■ 展覧会「聴こえる空間 A Heard Space」について

The interactive sound installation “A Heard Space” invites you to explore the intricate encounter between space and sound, where narratives emerge and unfold in response to your very presence.

In ‘A Heard Space,’ the roles of visual and auditory perception are shifted: while the visible environment stays in its mundane form, a virtual auditory space unfolds as we move around in the exhibition space. With spatial listening devices, visitors step into this sonic tapestry, becoming both wanderers and weavers of their own auditory journey. As they move through the exhibition space, their presence and movements create a shifting audio narrative, an immersive and ever-evolving experience. The field recordings in this work, carefully gathered from the Sapporo area, become a dynamic conduit, illuminating the subtle nuances of spatial perception—both as a collective and as individuals.

インタラクティブ・サウンド・インスタレーション「A Heard Space」は、空間と音とのの複雑な出会いに沈み込んでいくあなたの存在から物語が生まれる体験です。その物語がどんどんと移り変わっていくことを体験することになります。

A Heard Space」では、視覚と聴覚の役割が転換されます。目に見える光景は平凡な形のままですが、私たちが展示空間を動き回ることで、バーチャルな聴覚空間が展開されます。空間的なリスニング・デバイスを使って、来場者はこの音が織り上げるタペストリーに足を踏み入れ、自分自身の聴覚の旅をさまよう人であると同時にそのタペストリーを織る人になります。来場者が、展示スペース内を移動していくうち、自分たちの存在と動きが移り変わるオーディオの物語を生み出していくので、その世界に没入して次々と進化する体験になるでしょう。札幌周辺で丹念に集められたフィールド・レコーディング（音源）は、ダイナミックな引き金になり、それらのかたまりとしてもひとつづつさえも、空間を認識するときに生まれる微妙なニュアンスに気づかせてくれます。

■ 略歴
 Dr. Yu Zhang is an artist and design researcher working on interactive installations.
Dr. Mathias Funk is Associate Professor in the Future Everyday group in the Department of Industrial Design at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research interests include methods and tools for designing with data, designing systems of smart things, and interfaces for musical expression.

ユー・チャン博士は、インタラクティブ・インスタレーションに取り組むアーティストであり、デザイン研究者としても活動しています。マティアス・ファンク博士は、アイントホーフェン工科大学（TU/e）工業デザイン学科未来日常グループの准教授。彼の研究テーマは、データを使ったデザインのための手法やツール、スマートなモノのシステムデザイン、音楽表現のためのインターフェースなどです。
