■ 展覧会「여전히 헤메는 중 まだ迷っている Still wandering」について

전시는 2024년 텐진야마 스튜디오에서 작업한 회화 작업들을 전시한다. 작업은 오일페인팅 5-6점과 목탄 드로잉 등으로 구성하며, 그림 속에는 기억 속에 뒤엉킨 다른 장소와 군상들의 모습들이 대체로 서늘했던 삿보로에서의 겨울의 풍경들과 뒤섞여 있다.

 

The exhibition displays the painting works done while staying at Sapporo Tenjinyama Art Studio. The work consists of 5-6 oil paintings and charcoal drawings, and the images of other places and groups entangled in memories are mixed with the cool winter scenery in Sapporo.

 さっぽろ天神山アートスタジオ滞在中に描いた絵画作品を展示します。作品は油絵5〜6点と木炭のドローイングで構成され、思い出に絡む他の場所や集団のイメージが、札幌の寒かった冬景色と混ざり合っています。

■ アーティストステートメント

기억은 기록과는 조금 다르다. 뚜껑을 열어보기 전까지는 무엇이 들어있는지 모르는 상자와 같다. 그 미스테리한 속내를 나는 매우 좋아한다. 장소 속에서 또 다른 장소가 열리고, 사람 속에 또 다른 존재가 등장한다. ‘어떤 것을 보는가가 아닌 어떤 것을 통해 보는가‘, ‘어떻게 이곳과 저곳, 이것과 저것의 경계를 넘어 드나들 수 있는가‘가 나의 작업에서 가장 중요한 포인트이다. 그것은 단지 회화에 국한되지 않고 내가 했던 모든 종류의 작업에 적용된다. 그리고 회화는 그것을 가능하게 하는 가장 수월한 매체이다.

이번 전시에서는 종종 삿보로에서 내가 머물고 거닐었던 장소와 경험하고, 보았던 것들이 등장한다. 하지만 그림은 말 그대로의 삿보로와 내가 보았던 그것들을 의미하는 것은 아니다. 삿보로의 흔적들, 그 속에서 펼쳐진 그림 속 장면들을 함께 통과해 주길 바란다.

 

– Memory is a little different from recording. It’s like a box where you don’t know what’s in it until you open the lid. I love the mystery inside. Another place opens up in the place, and another existence emerges in the person. The most important points in my work are ‘how to see through something rather than through something’ and ‘how to come in and out of here and there, across the boundary between this and that’. It’s not just limited to painting, it applies to all kinds of work I’ve done. And painting is the easiest medium to make it possible.

In this exhibition, the places where I stayed and walked, experienced, and saw things often appear in Sapporo. However, the picture does not literally mean Sapporo and the things I saw. I hope you can pass through the traces of Sapporo and the scenes in the painting that unfolded in it together.

 

– 記憶は記録とは少し違う。蓋を開けるまで何が入っているかわからない箱のようなものだ。私はそんな謎の中身が好きだ。その場所には別の場所が広がり、その人の中には別の存在が現れる。私の作品で最も重要なポイントは、『何を見るかではなく、何かを通して見る方法』と『あちらとこちら、境界を越えて出入りする方法』である。それは絵画に限ったことではなく、私が手がけてきたあらゆる作品に当てはまる。そして絵画は、それを可能にする最も簡単なメディアだ。

この展覧会では、私が滞在し、歩き、体験し、見た場所が、しばしば札幌に登場する。しかし、絵は文字通り札幌や私が見たものを意味するのではない。札幌の痕跡と、そこで繰り広げられた絵の中の情景を、一緒に通り過ぎていただけたら幸いだ。

■ アーティストについて

이경희는 한국에서 조각과 유리회화를 전공하고 예술이론(미학)을 공부했다. 회화를 중심으로 설치, 영상 등 다양한 매체로 작업하며, 경기 북부 주한미군관련 프로젝트, 수복지구 프로젝트 작업의 멤버로 오랜기간 활동해왔다. 대전 이응노 미술관, 제주 현대미술관 등에서 전시를 열었으며, 베를린, 중국, 일본 등지에서 레지던시에 참여했다. 현재 국내외에서 활발히 활동하고 있는 작가이다.

 

Lee Kyeonghee majored in sculpture and glass painting in Korea and studied art theory (aesthetics). Working in various media such as installation and video focusing on painting, he has been a member of projects related to the U.S. Forces Korea in northern Gyeonggi Province and projects for the restoration district. She held exhibitions at the Lee Eung-no Museum of Art in Daejeon and the Jeju Museum of Modern Art, and participated in residency in Berlin, China, and Japan. He is currently an active artist at home and abroad.

 

イ・ギョンヒは、韓国で彫刻とガラス絵を専攻し、美術理論（美学）を学ぶ。絵画を中心にインスタレーションや映像など様々なメディアで活動し、京畿道北部の在韓米軍関連プロジェクトや復興地区のプロジェクトに参加。大田のイ・ウンノ美術館や済州近代美術館で展覧会を開催し、ベルリン、中国、日本でのレジデンスに参加。現在は国内外で精力的に活動している。
