JOURNEY TO THE UNKNOWN 　未知の世界への旅

この作品集は、人の魂の不思議さや、表に出てくる現象について表現されています。表向きには、陽気で明るく、いつも幸せそうにしている人でも、悲しみや怒り、孤独を抱えていることもあります。魂の奥底に隠されている喪失感、失望感や怒りをこの無感情で無表情、悲壮なキャラクターたちは抱えているのです。周囲に感じられる陽気で楽し気な空気には反して。人間の心の中にある複雑な感情を作品に投影しています。抑圧されている感情や、夜眠れなくなるくらい考え込んでしまうような事柄。

「未知の世界への旅」は、2021年より制作された作品集です。これらのデジタル作品集は、Procreateを用いて、制作されています。当初は、コロナ渦が、最高潮の時期でした。緊急事態宣言下の状況において、様々な事柄について思い返したり、熟考する時間を与えられました。特に人間の魂や感情という課題を私は作品として形にすることにエネルギーを注いだのです。

 

LALU WAHYU PERMANA（ラル―・ワヒウ・パールマナ）
Lalu Wahyu Permana （ラル―・ワヒウ・パールマナ）は、インドネシア出身のビジュアルアーティストで、2019年より世界各地のクライアントと、音楽や、書籍、劇や、短編映画産業におけるポスターや表紙のイラストを主に制作してきました。そうしたイラスト制作に従事しながらも、個人的な興味にもとづくプロジェクトに情熱を注いでいます。人間的な感情を観察するのが好きなのです。ワヒウは、山本タカトや、 Kendra Ahimsa（ケンドラ・アヒムサ）や、 SillDAのアート作品に影響を受けています。自身の作品に漫画的で、セミ・リアリスティックな超現実主義的なシーンを好んでいます。

 

Siti Syahmina Budiarso （シテイ・シャミーナ・ブディアルソ）

Syahmina（シャミーナ）は、優秀なプロジェクトマネージャーで、現在、数人のデジタルイラストレーターの方々とのクリエイティブなプロジェクトに従事しています。

クリエイティブ産業で、アーティストや関係者と働くことに意義を見出していて、裏方として従事し、チームメートと協力することを好んでいます。

JOURNEY TO THE UNKNOWN

This artwork series tells about a journey to the mystery of human souls and their cover. A human who on the outside looks cheerful, bright, and always radiates happiness, could also be the same human who harbors sadness, anger, and loneliness. The gloomy, sad, flat and no emotions of each character depict unexpressed loss, disappointment, and anger that are hidden inside the deepest depths of the soul. Contrast to the cheerful, bright, and fun vibes from most of the surrounding scenes.　The other nonsensical elements in the artwork depict the mixed feelings that linger inside the human mind. The repressed emotion, the weird things we overthink til we cannot sleep.

Journey to The Unknown series was created from 2021. I create these digital pieces using Procreate as my canvas. At that time, the Covid-19 pandemic was at its highest peak. Lockdown situation gave me an abundant amount of time to reflect and contemplate many things. Especially human souls and emotions that inspire me to express them in the artworks.

 

LALU WAHYU PERMANA – Bio
Lalu Wahyu Permana is an Indonesian visual artist. Since 2019, he worked with hundreds of clients around the world, mainly illustrating posters and covers for various industries from music, book, and plays, to short movies. Along with his illustrating work, he is still passionate to create his personal project. He likes to observe human feelings and emotions. Wahyu is mainly influenced by art from Takato Yamamoto, Kendra Ahimsa, and SillDA. He loves to pour cartoonish, semi-realistic, and surreal scenes into his works.

 

Siti Syahmina Budiarso – Bio

Syahmina is a novice project manager and currently handling creative projects for several digital illustrators. She is interested in working with artists and other stakeholders in this creative industry. She loves to work behind the scenes and grow together with her fellow teammates.
